0.5 oz. lemon juice
0.5 tsp. powdered sugar
1.5 oz. Old Mr. Boston Five Star Brandy
1 tsp. Curacao
Directions: Shake ingredients and strain into cocktail glass.
I tried to find the history of this cocktail and the only record I can find of it is on the Mr. Boston website. Not tough to discern why this drink is unknown, it’s awfully balanced, way too much lemon juice and the drink is begging for more sugar. Maybe it’s a different palate from 1969 to now or a Mr. Boston wanted insanely tart drinks, but some additional sugar would be nice. It would be a pretty solid drink with that change, though, it’s a brandy sour with just a bit of orange liqueur (I used Cointreau). Double the sugar and I’m on board.
